David W. Carlson, Vice President, Strategy and Operations
David Carlson has dedicated his career to delivering strategic and business process solutions to his pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients, primarily in the areas of managed markets strategy, contract analysis, and fact-based negotiation. First joining Accenture in the late 90's, David has consulted for many of the top pharmaceutical and biotech companies on issues ranging from merger integrations, pharmacoeconomics, and the support of two product launches in the dyslipidemia space. In 2003, David took a sabbatical to help grow the first venture capital backed Promotion Research Organization, ImpactRx.
Upon his return to Accenture, David led several initiatives in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology space. He was on the Leadership Team of the Managed Markets Practice and was ultimately on point for the Strategy and Analytics component of that practice. After having sat on the board of PharmaMetrics for a year, David opted to increase his involvement to a full-time position in the Fall of 2008.
A frequent speaker, Mr. Carlson has been featured at events such as the Model N Revenue Management Conference, multiple Center for Business Intelligence Conferences, an annual meeting of the Association of Medical Publishers, and an I-many Summit. Also, his article on fact-based contracting investments was recently featured in the May 2008 issue of Pharmaceutical Executive.
David received a B.S. with Latin Honors from Dickinson College with concentrations in physics and economics. He resides with his wife and son in suburban Philadelphia.
